Congress Approved EB-5
The EB-5 Program was approved by congress in 1990 and has been successful for the past 20 years. Each year the program makes 10,000 visas available, from which 3,000 are set aside for those who apply under a “Regional Center” (Pilot Program). The minimum investment is $500,000.00 but there are other fees associated with the visa process as well. The $500,000 investment is for a “targeted employment area” which suffers from chronic high unemployment that is at least 150% of the national rate. |
Permanent Residency
Once the investor’s application has been approved, the investor and his/her dependents including children under the age of 21 are eligible to apply for the two year conditional resident status. During the two years, the investor must be able to document that he/she continues to satisfy all EB-5 requirements. Permanent residency is awarded after successful completion of the two year period and the petition to remove the conditions is approved. |
